Personal: Sketches and Doodles and other (not so) interesting things

So with my graphics tablet dancing on the fine line between life and death (It has cut out for a period of days before deciding to work once more) I have been working traditionally. I don't, however, have much of it scanned in and thus am unable to post as of yet.

I just wanted to post a little update. From my previous text heavy post you will know I have been having a great deal of financial problems. This I now sort of have under control and I am getting help in finding a job. As of this moment I am waiting to hear back about an internship in a printmaking and photo/video editing studio. Fingers crossed it's good news I get back!

Oh and some art. I took some requests under the topic of Pokemon trainers (because of the release of the new games) over on Tumblr. Gary Oak was one of the requested and as my tablet wasn't working at that moment he was done in red drawing lead and Copic markers. The second green sketch was done once my tablet started to behave once more.

And the Lionfish Mermaid I posted previously. This is as far as I intend on taking her.

Personal: Mermaids!

...Or just mermaid. I'm thinking of doing a few, but it depends on how this one turns out:

She's a lil ugly and definitely a WIP. Kind of inspired by a lionfish.

Personal: So things happened.

So I have finally managed to take some commission! Just a few character busts but it's better than nothing, it keeps me drawing and it's helping to pay the bills while I still try to find a job.

Though lately I haven't been all that satisfied with my art. I'm putting it down to problems I have been having in my personal life and the many mood swings I seem to be experiencing lately. Hopefully in time this will all pass soon though. This is also why there wasn't all that much by ways of text on the previous post, though I doubt that mattered all that much.

Anyway I have a few sketches and doodles coloured drawings to post today.

Personal: Testing a new pen - The result

Yuna - Final Fantasy X

Found some custom pens so I decided to play around with them a little and customise them further ti fit what I wanted. I quite like the result.

Life Drawing.

Almost all of the life drawing done in my fourth year at university:

Personal: Yet more fanart

Because I had some free time, I took requests for characters people would like to see in my style.

The last one with the bunches is actually my character from a game (In this case Final Fantasy 14).
Picture 1: Golbez, Final Fantasy 4. Was a request taken from a user over on Tumblr.
Picture 2: Mudkip, Pokemon.
Picture 3: Palom, Final Fantasy 4: The After Years.
Picture 4: Terra Branford, Final Fantasy 6

A little later on I will be posting again with some life drawing. But only if these photographs come out looking good enough to post.

Personal: Yet more fan art

I'm going to burn myself out at this rate. But yes, since I have been able as of late I have been playing through an old favourite. Final Fantasy 6. I have never actually finished it though, reasons being my memory card corrupted and I lost the save file. But that's beyond the point. Anyway I decided I would doodle one of the characters I liked the most. She's frankly a little cutie even if she is a typical ten year old pain in the butt.

So this was the initial sketch. With creepy oversized hands and all.

I then lined it and changed one of the hands. I'm still not entirely happy with it though so changes will be made before I colour it.

Personal: More fanart

Just a quick post to show a few of the things I have been doing lately. And one to show how I sometimes plan out a drawing, multicolour!

Coursework: Movement and Character sketchbook

This sketch book consisted of a mixture of character studies from films I worked on, characters I created myself, ideas for characters I considered using in a comic I am planning and, figure and fabric studies.
