Draw-a-thon!

So I have lately been feeling really meh about my art, I may have also vented about it to a friend on Skype... Sorry! I may have also been feeling really sorry for myself about it (cause I'm kinda lame that way) BUT then I was all "Time to put my big girl knickers on!" and got down to doing something about it. That's when I was all "I'm just gonna draw all day today and see what happens." and thus Draw-a-thon began. I streamed the entire thing. The videos are available to watch on my livestream page:

I love the result, if I'm truly honest with you.
But I didn't stop there!

Did a full colour too. I'll be doing more of these. The sketches will be a daily thing. First step towards regaining what I feel I lost and improving on it.

Colour experiments!

 Trying my hand at new brushes and techniques when it comes to colour. I must admit I quite like the outcome!

I also tried my hand at painting fire. A lot of trial and error and I still feel there could be mush room for improvement.

Personal: Mermaids!

...Or just mermaid. I'm thinking of doing a few, but it depends on how this one turns out:

She's a lil ugly and definitely a WIP. Kind of inspired by a lionfish. 

Personal: Doj-con prints and other such things.

Recently, as in the weekend just past, Doj-Con took place with in the Union of Dundee University. This year I took some time out to draw up some art for prints (and finished some of the flat colour drawings seen here previously.

These are scanned images from an A2 sketchbook. Concepts for the film Aerosault which we had to unfortunately drop due to time constraints. Fortunately we are still able to use all the work we had completed (concepts, line tests and the characters) for our portfolios and show reels.

Coursework: New concept art.

This is a mixture of concepts and sketches of characters and environments created for the film "Aerosault" at university.

Though there aren't as many I am working on changing that. This is for the film "Wee Monsters" another film I am working on at university.

Coursework: 2D character design. Aerosault/G-Runner.

Ok so we needed a redesign for the character when it came to the point when he jumps into the wall and becomes 2D. This is my design.

Coursework: New concepts

Okies, new semester, new year, new concept art. Felt some, if not all, of the concept pieces I did last year were a little lacking so as I have been practising with digital painting I have decided to put together some new pieces. This is a little WIP, and is taking longer than I would like because I am having a few problems with the perspective in that window.

Personal: Update!

Everything worth looking at that has been done since my last update. Mostly all Final Fantasy fan art, due to having a bit of a binge on the games (Mainly Final Fantasy 4) but some original work as well.

I've been attempting to improve my skills when it comes to digital painting and sketching so the most of these are digital.
